This unit is designed with 5 stand-alone lessons centered on a central theme—the future and the role of computers-The unit is designed to supplement the cross- curriculum concept at the school.Since some of the topics to be researched include a study of what the life will be in the future , the definition of " programs " and " computers " , theuseful characteristics of computers . use of Internet resources is essential to get accurate and current information about the latest developments in these areas.Research of print material will also be used.Students will research print material and Internet sites to obtain accurate information about different computers . Students will create a presentation describing computers and its uses.Students will create a newsletter using creative writing skills to present information on computers .Last, students will develop a Web page, which contains information about life in the future and computers .The teacher will assess students on their completion of each of the activities, and opportunities for feedback and suggestions from peers will be available to the groups.
